Aerial View of Lishui Ring

​The Ring of Lishui is located in the central square of Lishui Yintai City, which is the intersection point of the city’s central axis and the Ou River. As the core landscape sculpture of Lishui Yintai City, the project continues the overall design intention of "Dragon" and "terrace", and uses the form of "dragon" to be parallel with the urban temperament of Lishui.

Design Concept of "Ring" of Lishui 

​​​​​​​​​​​"Schematic Design - Detailed Design - Intelligent Construction," RoboticPlus.AI provides design to build services for this city-level sculpture. Different from the traditional design process that starts with space, form, and material first, and then considers processing and production technology, the Ring of Lishui integrates the space, shape, materials, structure, crafts, and construction through digital technology from the beginning of the design, thereby facilitating the implementation of digital processing and intelligent construction.

 

The sculpture contains an overall field from the sunken plaza to the ground pool, with a diameter of about 30 meters and a height of nearly 20 meters. RoboticPlus.AI selects a long line generated by mathematical logic to interpret the design concept in a "shuttle and jump" posture - like a dragon traversing between mountains and rivers.

 

There are two different metal materials on the surface of the sculpture. With the upward extension of the form, it gradually transitions from mirrored stainless steel at the bottom to anodized aluminum panels, creating the visual effect of a dragon splashing. Diamond-shaped aluminum plates, inspired by the intention of "dragon scales," match varying percentages of opening with the height change. Combined with the light effects of "breathing and wandering," along with the misty ambiance generated by the site's pool, it gives life to the Ring of Lishui City.

 

In addition to the integration of various professions in the complex 3D spatial system, RoboticPlus.AI fully leverages the concept of intelligent construction and accurately obtains the processing parameters of 140 ring keels through the BIM model information (LOD400), as well as the cutting and laser data information of 2520 plates. This data-driven approach facilitates production with multiple devices and enables the processing without drawings.

 

On the construction site, RoboticPlus.AI performs construction simulations in advance through BIM models to specify the sequence of material delivery, stacking, and hoisting. Once the pre-assembled segments of the main structure are completed at the factory and delivered to the site, our team used Augmented Reality (AR) technology to achieve a 1:1 high-precision match between the construction site and the BIM model, efficiently solving the positioning and installation challenges of the complex 3D spatial structures.
